Calling All Bloggers: Join the Absolute Mayhem Brigade

It’s time to get serious, and I need your help.

Last week I received my first proof of my upcoming children’s book, Absolute Mayhem. And while there are still a few minor changes that need to be made, I’m a little giddy when I tell you it looks AWESOME! Like, it’s a real book and everything. So that means it will be ready for the masses so soon that it’s not even funny.

And that is where you, my blogging and social media influencing friends, come in. Getting the attention of the world is not an easy task, especially when you’re someone who doesn’t like to overuse the f-bomb, take definitive and unwavering stances on controversial topics, or tweet nude photos. Not many people pay attention to a girl who kind of bragged about Michael Bolton being her very first concert. But a whole brigade of folks who rally behind said Michael Bolton fan? The world might just pay attention to that…at least part of the world. And that’s good enough for me.

SO…I am looking for bloggers and social media influencers who would be willing to spread the word about the book by joining the Absolute Mayhem Brigade. This is what I am hoping you will do for me:

1. Write an honest review of the book on Amazon.com the day it goes live for purchase. (I will let you know when that will be!)

2. Write a review of the book on your blog, and post it during a specified time period, to be determined by me.

3. Share the book on your social media outlets.

In return, this is what I will do for you:

1. Provide you with an advanced electronic copy of the book via email, for your review.

2. Provide you with a sweet little promo code for a discounted paperback copy of the book once it is officially released.

3. Promote you and your blog via my social media outlets and blog.

I have “met” so many fantastic people through blogging, and I know I can count on you. If you are interested in joining the Absolute Mayhem Brigade, please CLICK HERE to fill out the application. The first thirty (30) bloggers to do so will officially be members of the Brigade and will receive the perks that come with spreading the word. The target release date for the book is early December, so you should have plenty of time to read it and write a review (it’s only a 34 page picture book, perfect to read with your kids before bedtime).

  4. I signed up, but I’m really not all that influential, so if you need to reserve the right to kick me out to make room for somebody helpful, just let me know.
    Also, I’m jealous that you will have your book out for Christmas. It doesn’t look like I’m gonna make it with mine. The publishing process can be so annoying sometimes.

    1. Oh come now, you are plenty influential! I most certainly will not be kicking you out. Who needs the New York Times when you have a bunch of people utilizing word of mouth? I am bummed for you that it won’t make it out before Christmas. For a little while there, I wasn’t sure if mine would either. So many tiny landmines in this process, for sure. And I will admit I don’t like hearing that it still sucks for someone who has already done it before. :/ Regardless of when it happens, I will still be excited for you. I’m loving Temp. We should do some type of blogger bookpalooza or something when your new one comes out!

      1. I hate to rain on you parade, but proofing will never be fun, no matter how many times you go through it. I had high hopes for Christmas, but I’ve decided it’s better not to rush through all the steps I need to take. I’m on my 2nd proof, and I usually go through about 5 of them. At any rate, I’ll be ready for blogger bookpalooza.

Hmmm…thinking sideways around this (because what you want is LOTS of engagement and sharing), what would be a cool idea that you could do, is to wrangle it into a few blog-hops (a tactic I intend to try out with the Jessica book this Friday). I’m almost certain that you could come up with Ten Things of Thankful For Being A Published Author, and then…presto – engagement and shares… 😉

      1. SWEET! I’m excited! I just filled out the form, FYI, I’m not as active on my social media sites as I probably should be, but I’ll work on updating more frequently and I’ll definitely promote the book on them when the time comes! Plus I have in person new mama friends to share your book with too! 🙂

        The little guy is doing so well! He sleeps, he eats, he chatters and gurgles away, it’s pretty awesome! 🙂

  12. I’ll be happy to read and review, and like your author page. I am happy to review on my blog, but since I am soon the be a grandmother the second time, I am afraid to say I will do it at a specific time. Would this help? So excited for you!

The big part I am looking for is that you could post a quick customer review on Amazon the day it goes live. As far as a blog post, I will happily take that whenever you can manage.
