Brought To You By the Letter “G”: Guest Post, Giveaway, and Gratuitous Generosity

Great Grecian Goblets! I have lots of GOOD things for you today! And they all begin with the letter G.

FIRST…

I am super excited to have a GUEST POST over at Crazy Good Parent, a blog recently started by Janice of Snide Reply. It is a place where parents who struggle with mental disorders or illnesses can find support, share experiences, and just feel normal. Today, I am sharing my story of my own struggle with anxiety, which many people may not even know I’ve had. Because I find it to be really boring dinner party conversation. Also, I don’t go to many dinner parties. But I hope you will head over to Crazy Good Parent to read it and find out how I’ve finally come to manage my anxiety. I know…it’s so suspenseful. You just want me to tell you, don’t you? I’ll give you a hint: it involves turkey and a doctor of vaginas. If that doesn’t pique your interest, nothing will.cropped-crazy-good-parent

BUT, before you go there, stay here for another minute or two. Because I have more GOODIES for you…

SECOND…

With the holidays upon us, I wanted to do another GIVEAWAY! In the midst of the mad shopping dash, who wouldn’t want to get something for free? And speaking of mad shopping dashes, many of us are stopping to do something else as we traverse the bustling malls: getting our children’s pictures taken with Santa. It’s a fun tradition, but…what happens when you amass years and years of photos of your kids sitting on some bearded stranger’s lap? You paid at least $20 a piece for those things, so the last thing you want is for them to end up in the bottom of some photo box that will only be unearthed by your kids when they are cleaning out your house after sending you to the old folks home.

Enter the “Memories with Santa: Through the Years” Book!through the years

Kathy Schoenekase and Melissa Groff are two moms from St. Louis who wanted a way to preserve their Santa photos in an easy, no fuss scrapbook that can be pulled off the shelf whenever the family wants to take a trip down memory lane. Their slogan is, “One Story. One Place.” Everything is already done for you; all you have to do is pop in your pictures. Voila! You have one less thing to have mommy guilt over.

Kathy and Melissa are GRACIOUSLY GIVING away a copy of their original “Memories with Santa” book (pictured above), which can be purchased through their website, www.throughtheyearsonline.com, or their Etsy shop. A special retail version of the book has just been made available through Lillian Vernon, AND it is available at malls across the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and England, right next to Santa’s stand. How convenient is that? So be sure to look for the book while your kid is telling Santa she wants Miley Cyrus tickets for Christmas. (Bonus: the book is actually cheaper than the Santa picture!) You can also find them on Facebook. Duh.

But if you want to try your luck at winning a free copy, enter the raffle HERE!

I will announce the winner on Tuesday, December 10th.

AND FINALLY…

GRATUITOUS GENEROSITY!!!

Rick Astley has a generous amount of feelings he wants to tell you about. Trust me, you wouldn’t get this from any other guy. He is also generous with his middle-aged dad grooving moves. However, he is not generous enough to give you up. Consider yourself Rickrolled.

Now that I’ve undoubtedly put “Never Gonna Give You Up” in your head for the rest of the day and offered you free stuff, go check out my post at Crazy Good Parent HERE. Quick…before you make me anxious.

Customers who like this blog also follow me on Facebook, Twitter (@RYouFinishedYet), and Pinterest.

  1. Thanks for sharing your experience. So many women suffer from anxiety, myself included, but for me it manifested in terrible insomnia last spring. I’ve now added some things to my life to help alleviate it and have learned, somewhat, how to control it. Motherhood can be overwhelming and I think our culture is almost nurturing of anxiety with all the technology and constant communication with smartphones, FB, twitter, instant messaging, etc. I have a love/hate relationship with it. congrats on your anniversary since that life changing event and learning how to manage your anxiety. xo

    1. Thank you. And I think you are right about our society nurturing anxiety. It’s probably why it is such a common problem. I still often get those feelings of being totally overwhelmed: that email I forgot to write, the blogs I haven’t read, the facebook statuses I haven’t kept up with. Most of it isn’t that important, but somehow it feels important to be in constant contact with people.
